Earth Day Events
Animal Extravaganza
Tuesday, April 22
4:00 - 6:00 pm
Be a player in an Animal Survival Game played on our life-size
outdoor game board. Test your
animal knowledge and make the
best choices to help you ‘survive’ all the way to the end of the trail. Survive or not, enjoy a live animal program featuring Minnesota’s “Most Wanted” (animals in need of protection); the Blanding’s Turtle & the Timber Rattlesnake. Up close interactions and facts to delight all ages, this is a must do!

Plus! Build a Mourning Dove nesting structure to take home with you. Workshops, hosted by Girl Scouts, begin every half hour and continue while supplies last.
Native Plant Sale
Friday, April 25
4:30 - 6:30 pm
A great way to bring a natural
touch into your backyard! Native plants are best adapted to the local climate and once established;
seldom need watering, mulching, or protection from frost or continuous mowing. Native plants attract
beautiful butterflies, beneficial
insects & birds. Starter plants in
2"x 2" pots are$3.50 each.
Plant varieties will be dependent on grower’s availability but may
include: Butterfly Weed, Cardinal Flower, Bluestem, Columbine, Wild Geranium, Pasque Flower and more.

Earth Day Geo-Cache In & Trash Out
Saturday, April 26
10:00 am - 3:00 pm (Open House)
This family fun event is sure to please, so bring everyone for some outdoor time and geo-caching. Come for an hour or bring a picnic and spend the day.

Cache in Trash out (CITO) is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Geocachers around the world are dedicated
to improving parks and other cache-friendly places. Join in
the fun - we supply the garbage bags; you discover
caches in the park and pick up trash along the way. Help preserve the natural beauty of Quarry Hill Park! Free GPS rental
available.
